July 20th

Dear July,
This week my brother is visiting. We spent this evening wandering around the gardens and along the river, catching Pokemon. He came to the Melbourne Writers Festival launch with me and we ate too much free food together.
I miss him a lot. This is the longest we’ve ever lived in different places and it’s strange and hard. Before I moved to Melbourne, we’d only lived apart for one year. I’ve been in Melbourne for two and a half now. I don’t think I’m going to move back to Newcastle and he’s not moving to Melbourne anytime soon.
We talk a lot on the phone, often for hours and hours at a time.  Deciding to hang up isn’t the same as loitering at the door, chatting for ages after we decide to go to bed.
