July 4th

Dear July,
When I woke up this morning I thought I might finish a book, play a couple of hours of Just Dance, make something nice for lunch. Having worked all weekend, I planned to have a pleasant Monday off. Only by 11:00 I found myself nose deep in a SURPRISE cold.
I stomped my way up to the chemist to buy cold tablets. I made a stack of roast potatoes for lunch and watched a whole season of old Nigella episodes. I finished one book and started another one. I opened a second box of tissues. I had a two-hour nap and then boyfriend made me soupy noodles for dinner while I got mad about Master Chef (what is Harry wins, if he does let’s revolt.
Except for the pain in my sinuses and the fact I had to carry a bin everywhere lest I cover the house with tissues, it was more or less a perfect day.
