Letters to July – Fifteenth

I’m going to try and blog every day during July as part of Letters to July. It’s probably a bad idea.
Dear July,
You’re freezing, July. I have been sitting here all day, working through one thing after another and gently shivering. I should put on more clothes. But this jumper is usually so warm and I’m resigned to this now. This is just how cold I am, forever.
Have I told you we’re going camping? I’ve booked this little metal hut and we’re going to go for walks and read books and not do any work for days and days (three days). People keep expressing pretty extreme scientism about it: “In this weather?!” At the other end, boyfriend thinks that it’s “practically glamping” because we’re going somewhere with a shower block and barbeques. It is also difficult to imagine how it could possibly be colder than our flat. Our flat is really cold right now, July.
Only one more day. One more day of working and then we get to go on our little weekend holiday. You and me, July, on an adventure.
